christmas - do you love it? or hate it?Which camp are you in? Do you hate the commercialism, the fuss, the stress of people coming together, the rush of crowded shops, the nuisance of having to think of Christmas presents, fake Christmas trees... or do you love the Christmas carols, the decorations, the mulled wine or eggnog, the family coming together, the celebrations, the holidays, the spirit of shopping for gifts and then exchanging them, the smell of pine, the mistletoe? Or if you happen to be in the Southern Hemisphere, the barbecue on the beach? It doesn't matter which side you're on. What matters is how you feel about it. We live in a world of polarity. Without the heat, we couldn't feel the cold. There is no black without the white. No up's without the down's. The question is, which side of the polarity scale do you focus on for most of the time, and how do you feel as a result of what you focus on? Some people focus on all the things that aren't working - like Christmas with the crowded shops.... and it bugs them. It annoys them to the extent that they will complain about it to anyone who will listen. They groan when they see or hear reminders of Christmas. Then they'll find others who sympathise with their ramblings and it feels good then, because they've just got to be right! Other people focus on all the things that are working - like Christmas with all its fine trimmings and joyousness. They feel so good that they really don't care much about what those who don't enjoy Christmas think about it... "who cares, I feel so good!" And in their feeling good, they spill over with it, and can't help but spread their feeling good along the way... in the way that they respond, the way that they behave, just the way that they are. In our day-to-day's, we come across both sides of the polarity scale - the black and the white - and the greys in between. The value of being on the side of the scale that we don't want to be on is the clarity that we get from it. Never do we get more clarity about how much we love and treasure our health than when we are not feeling well... about how we want our work lives to be than when it's not how we want it to be... about how being relaxed is such a wonderful state than when we are most harrassed... about how being in the flow of abundance feels better than being pinched off. When you find yourself in that place of not-so-good, "turn the other cheek". Face the other way and start thinking about what you want, and start focusing on what is working and what is good. Then watch out for how your feelings change inside. And when they do, see what might come up that you now feel inspired to do. "Ah! But that's not reality! Reality is what is right in front of me!" Indeed. And what do you choose to see that's in front of you? Do you hate Christmas? Or do you love it? You choose! Action Points 1. Be more aware of which end of the polarity scale you are focusing on. 2. Decide whether you want to stay there or move to the end that feels better. 3. Choose what you want and focus on that to shift your point of attraction. Quote "The ability to focus attention on important things is a defining characteristic of intelligence." - Robert J Shiller "Spend more time focused upon your dream than upon the reality. The reality gives birth to the dream - but the dream is where you are wanting to put your attention." - Abraham-Hicks Back to Abundance Reminders Articles
